The final public hearing for the proposed map changes to the new Comprehensive Plan’s Urban Growth Boundary was held and an informal straw poll was taken for each area. This is not an official vote but signifies how the Planning Commission may vote on each area after having a chance to discuss amongst themselves at a future meeting. The straw votes for the following areas reflect whether or not to remove them from the Urban Growth Boundary:

Keep Stagville / Old Oxford Area:

  • Keep: 7

  • Remove: 4

Remove Farrington Mill Road Area

  • Keep: 3

  • Remove: 8

Remove Patterson Road Area

  • Keep: 5

  • Remove: 6

Keep Cheek/Redwood Area

  • Keep: 6

  • Remove: 5

Remove Snow Hill Road Area

  • Keep: 1

  • Remove: 10

Remove Arrowhead Area

  • Keep: 0

  • Remove: 11

The Southeast Future Growth Area was voted to remove the Future Growth Area designation from the Northwest portion of the area:

  • Keep: 2

  • Remove: 9
